AVM heeft opnieuw nieuwe bètasoftware voor twee van zijn routers uitgebracht. Met de update worden veel fouten op het gebied van internet en wifi verholpen. Ook op het gebied van telefonie is er een verbetering.

Het laboratorium komt weer op stoom
Aan het begin van het jaar was het behoorlijk stil rond het laboratorium van AVM. Maar inmiddels doen alweer twaalf FritzBox-modellen en een FritzRepeater mee aan het bètaprogramma van de Berlijners. Daarmee neemt ook de frequentie toe waarmee nieuwe versies van FritzOS worden uitgebracht.

Nog vorige week waren er updates voor maar liefst zes routers, waarbij tal van fouten op het gebied van internet, mesh en thuisnetwerk werden verholpen. Ook voor de FritzRepeater 2400 was er nieuwe software beschikbaar. Nu staat de volgende versie van FritzOS 8.10 al klaar voor de gebruikers. Deze is per direct beschikbaar voor de volgende FritzBox-modellen:

Foutoplossingen in meerdere gebieden
Hoewel met de nieuwe bètasoftware vooral problemen uit eerdere versies worden opgelost, is er op het gebied van telefonie ook een verbetering. Beide routers ondersteunen vanaf nu de Vodafone-IP-telefoniecentrale-aansluiting. De update bevat daarnaast de volgende foutoplossingen:

Internet

• Bij het aanmaken van een nieuwe LAN-LAN-koppeling via WireGuard-VPN werd het zoekdomein van de andere kant niet opgevraagd

• De voorkeur van een DHCPv6-server werd niet correct ingesteld en weergegeven

• De online-monitor toonde een witte pagina in plaats van een verwijzing naar de internet-gateway wanneer het FritzOS-apparaat in de bedrijfsmodus "IP-client" stond

• In sommige gevallen werd de optie "Al het netwerkverkeer via de VPN-verbinding verzenden" ("Full Tunnel") van een WireGuard-VPN-verbinding niet weergegeven

• VPN-verbindingen via IPSec IKEv2 (bijv. met Android-apparaten) werden direct na het opbouwen van de verbinding weer beëindigd

• WLAN (alleen FritzBox 7530)

• Ontbrekend bericht bij radarherkenning in "Systeem > Gebeurtenissen"

De huidige update voor de FritzBox 7530 AX voert de volgende correcties aan de firmware uit:

• Bij het aanmaken van een nieuwe LAN-LAN-koppeling via WireGuard-VPN ontbrak de vraag naar het zoekdomein van de andere zijde.

• In de functiediagnose werd het aantal door de kinderslotfunctie geblokkeerde apparaten niet correct weergegeven.

Het is goed mogelijk dat AVM in de loop van de dag nog verdere updates voor extra routers uitbrengt. Afgaand op de datum van de laatste updates, zouden de 5G- en LTE-mobiele modellen als volgende aan de beurt zijn. De laatste laboratoriumupdates voor die modellen dateren inmiddels van bijna drie weken geleden.

## Internet:
- **Changed** FRITZ! devices in the home network, e.g. FRITZ!Repeaters, are no longer offered in parental controls and prioritization; they always have unrestricted internet access with normal priority
- **Changed** Private IPv4 addresses (RFC 1918) are no longer posted via MyFRITZ!Net (DNS) if a publicly accessibly IPv6 address is available
- **Changed** When VPN connections are active for which all network traffic is routed via the VPN connection ("full tunnel"), the guest network is excluded from this and routed over the normal internet connection
- **Changed** Number of network devices for which the saving of internet data rates can be enabled was increased to 40
- **Fixed** Enabling the UPnP filter had no effects for IPv6
- **Fixed** For providers without support for IPv6, the Online Meter did not count consumption values as long as IPv6 was enabled in the account information of the FRITZ!Box

Neen, jammer genoeg niet.
Gisteren nog een Beta versie geïnstalleerd op een 7590 .
Als ik visionair zou zijn, had ik tot vandaag gewacht en onmiddelijk de upgrade gedaan

hopelijk krijg ik nu eens reactie. Als het nu niet komt, zal het nooit meer gebeuren.

Welke reactie verwacht je? Feedback op de nieuwe Firmware?
Wat mij betreft zijn er enkele interessante nieuwigheden:

• Internet fail safe protection
  Hiermee kan je de fallback optie gebruiken op elke Fritz!Box met de nieuwe OS 8.20
  Vroeger was fallback alleen mogelijk via een aangesloten 4G stick (via USB). De nieuwe failsafe protection is veel flexibeler geworden. Voorbeelden:
  • Een Fritz!Box Cable, gebruikt als Kabelmodem, met een fallback internet (vb VDSL2 modem, LTE modem) op de WAN poort.
  • Een Fritz!Box Fiber, gebruikt als Glasvezelmodem/ONT, met een fallback internet (vb een Telenet modem, LTE modem) op de WAN poort.
  • Een Fritz!Box 7590, gebruikt als VDSL2 modem, met een fallback internet verbinding op de WAN poort
  De fallback bron kan aangesloten worden op de WAN poort (indien beschikbaar), op een van de LAN poorten (1-2-3), op de USB poort (vb GSM thetering) etc ...
  
  De Fritz!Box wordt als het ware een dual WAN router (alleen beperkt tot fallback).
  Via de fallback heb je natuurlijk wel dubbele NAT (als de fallback geleverd wordt door een andere router), maar via het PCP protocol kan de Fritz!Box automatisch poorten openzetten op de voorliggende router (PCP of port control protocol wordt voornamelijk gebruikt in een CGNAT omgeving)
• MyFritz (of de DNS Client) stuurt geen updates meer van een lokaal IPv4 adres indien de Fritz!Box via IPv6 bereikbaar is.
  Een lokaal IPv4 adres updaten in DDNS is meestal nutteloos gezien zo'n adres toch niet van buitenaf bereikbaar is ...
• Bij een "full tunnel" VPN (alle traffiek via de VPN) kan het Gasten netwerk uitgesloten worden. Op die manier kan je via het Gasten netwerk (WiFi of LAN4) toch nog de rechtstreekse internet verbinding gebruiken.
