Hello,
I'm a new member. First of all I want to say Hello to all fans of Voip-subject and FBF on this forum.

Philipe_d told in PM that I should create topic with my problem here.

I'm trying to establish DSL internet connection with my FritzBox 7390 International version.
Software installed: 84.04.86-18550 switched to Annex B (as you advise on this forum)
Line is dedicated for VDSL2 (yesterday I was calling to Belgacom's Call Centre to ask about it)

I was trying with wizards - no result.

Later I decided to enter all settings manually.
Provider: BELGACOM VDSL
VCI: 1
VPI: 32
Encapsulation: LLC

No results

Later:
VCI:1
VPI: 32
PPPoE

No results

Afterwards I've tried with these options:
- Set the speeds of the DSL line automatically
- Detect all ATM settings automatically

No result.

Now FBF works behind BBox2 (PPPoE-LAN1). It works fine but thats not the point.
BBox2 works fine either (connection is established very quickly), but I bought FBF as a replacement for Belgacom's device.

Possibly I make some stupid mistake on the way, but I dont really know where.

Any idea how to solve this problem?
I would be very grateful for useful informations.

Regards

Maybe start all over from scratch ?

* First make a back-up of your current settings (System > Save Settings).
* Reset the box to factory default (System > Restart > factory Settings) or dial #991* 1590 1590 * from an attached phone.
* Box will restart with the wizard: select language (EN), select country (BE), select Annex (B).
* Box will restart again with the selected settings and with the provider settings wizzard.
* Cancel the wizzard at this point.
* First activate "Expert mode": System > View > Show expert settings > Apply.
* Go the the Main Menu. You should have VDSL2 synchronisation by now (no Internet yet).
* Go to Settings > Internet > Account Information.
- Select Internet connection via DSL.
- Select "use one connection for all computers (router").
- Select "account information required".
- Select "Belgacom VDSL" from the Internet provider drop down list and enter your Belgacom logon (format: fx123456@skynet) and password.
- Select the 24-hours disconnect (to avoid Belgacom's 36-h forced disconnect).
- Set the speed of your line manually: enter your up- and download limits, depending your subscription).
This is important for QoS to work: the FritzBox automatically detects your synchronisation speed (30/6), but because Belgacom caps your internet speeds on PPPoE level, your real speed is below the line sync.
- DSL ATM: I believe this is not necessary for VDSL2, but you van manually enter 1/32 for VPI/VCI, and PPPoE for Encapsulation

This should do the job, if not please revert.

Import question: Do you have proper synchronisation (PPPoE failing), or does the VDSL2 synchronisation fail ?
- If no synchronisation, you should check the DSL line connection cables ...
- If PPPoE fails try with "test@SKYNET", password "test". You will establish a PPPoE session (no internet, only Belgacom home page).

Hope this helps.
Philippe.

....
Thanks Philippe. Unfortunately still no results. I have checked the cable - looks ok. But the problem still stands.
I have no sychronization at all. It is not a problem with PPPoE. The problem is that FBF doesn't synchronize itself. What is the reason? Y-Kabel?
BBox2 have no problem with synchro at all. Any idea?

- It indeed looks like a cable problem.
- Just try with the Belgacom "DSL cable" directly into the FritzBox DSL port. The cable has a RJ11 plug, which you can (temporarely) fit into the RJ45 port of the FritzBox ... and try again.
- Or to avoid damage to the FritzBox RJ45 port, use a normal patch cable and a female-female RJ45 adapter.
