Hi there, firstly sorry this is in English..

I am trying to help a friend who has a bbox 3 installed.
Her computer is working on the WIFI
trying to install a smartphone but we have an authentication problem (also with my smart phone) so there must be a password problem...

There is a password on the back of the bbox 3 but what is this for as it does not work for wifi access

Many thanks in advance and once again sorry it is in english  :bang:

There should be 2 passwords on the B-box3 label:
  • "User Pasword" = the pasword to login in the B-box3 Web interface (username = "user').
  • "Wireless Key" = the WiFi password.
Unless the WiFi passphrase has been changed by the technician during installation, this shoukld work (both for 2.4 GHz and the 5GHz WLAN, encryption WPA2).

The only way to change this is to access the Web interface (http://192.168.1.1) from a PC, connected with a LAN cable.

Thanks for the reply, I presume it is just access the BBox3 via the lan cable using the web interface and then in the security section change the password??? :???:
Sorry I am not up to speed with the bbox.

Regards

Clive

Exactly.
But isn't this the same for any router? You need access the web interface, using a LAN cable, to be able to change the WiFi password? Why should the b-box be different  ?

Be carefull, the wifi password is case sensitive, mostly your ISP Proximus uses capital letters in it, but that's not a rule.
